Tikamgarh Farmers Demanding Drought-hit Status Thrashed, Stripped By Police, Cm Shivraj Orders Probe
Madhya Pradesh, Oct 04 (ANI): The Madhya Pradesh Police on Wednesday allegedly thrashed and stripped protesting farmers of Tikamgarh district for demanding drought-hit status. Hours after the incident, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he has instructed the state's Home Ministry to probe the matter. Addressing the media in capital city Bhopal, CM Chouhan said that he has spoken to state Home Minister (HM) Bhupendra Singh to take stock of the situation. The farmers were protesting demanding Tikamgarh be declared drought-hit district.
