Jammu (J&K), Nov 06 (ANI): The construction work of arch bridge on world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab river began with tradition rituals in rough terrain of Jammu and Kashmir.The 1.3 km long bridge would be a vital link between Katra and Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs. 12,000 crore, has been designed under the consultancy of experts from Finland and Germany, considering various safety measures. The construction work is running in full progress and is expected to be complete by 2019. The railway officials said the bridge will have an ability to bear earthquake in the capacity of 8 magnitude.
