New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Streets of the West Bank and Jerusalem are engulfed by fury as thousands of Palestinians staged protest against United States President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Hundreds of protestors were wounded by Israeli Army fire, while military claimed that two rockets were launched at Israel from Gaza. Leader of Islamist group Hamas has asked Palestinians to abandon peace efforts and launch an uprising against Israel. Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said many nations will follow the U.S.'s lead. But Trump cuts a lonely figure over his decision on the world stage. Warnings have come from across the world, including major allies like France, Germany and Great Britain. The Saudi Royal Court has also issued a statement warning of 'dangerous consequences'. Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan accused Trump of throwing the region in to a 'ring of fire' - saying the decision disregards a 1980 UN resolution regarding the status of the city. Palestinians removed Trump's mural on West Bank barrier in protest. Israel saw the contested city as its undivided capital; the Palestinians claim the east as theirs. Trump, however, remains committed to the two-state solution if the parties want one. The UN Security Council will meet on Friday to discuss Trump's latest move.
