New Delhi, August 30 (ANI): President-elect of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Mogens Lykketoft, arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a four-day visit to India with talks likely to revolve around reformed United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Lykketoft, who will succeed Uganda's Sam Kutesa as President of UNGA in September, will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj later in the day. India's long-held demand for a permanent seat on the UNSC is also likely to figure during Lykketoft's meetings with the Indian leaders. However, India's bid suffered a setback when the U.S., Russia and China opposed negotiations to reform the powerful UN body, refusing to contribute to a text that will form the basis for the long-drawn reform process. Outgoing President Kutesa has already circulated a text to the UN members on which the negotiations on the reform of the Security Council will be based. United Nations will commemorate its 70th session in New York next month during which the negotiating text on the UNSC reforms might be ratified. Modi is scheduled to visit New York around the same time while Swaraj is likely to participate at the UNGA proceedings. Lykketoft would also deliver a lecture at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) on the topic
