Kochi, Nov 15 (ANI): A group of differently-abled children were taken on a tour of a warship in Kochi as part of Navy week celebrations. As part of the celebrations organised by the Southern Naval Command, around 100 special kids visited INS Tir along with their escorts and were provided a guided tour. Commanding Officer of INS Tir, Captain SR Iyer, interacted with the children. After the guided tour, a magic show and various cultural programmes, including dance performances, were also organised to entertain the kids. The children, from different special schools and organisations in and around Kochi, also participated in activities like karaoke singing and were given gifts to remember the visit. A string of events have been organised in the run-up to Navy Day on December 04, which commemorates the attack by the Indian Navy at Karachi harbor in the 1971 war. The naval base will be opened to the public for three days from November 20, providing people an opportunity to take a look into the activities and the role played in safeguarding the seas.
