Bengaluru, Aug 16 (ANI): Following a complaint by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Karnataka Police have filed a case against Amnesty International India, an international rights body, for allegedly projecting “human distress” during a debate on the recent Kashmir unrest. The FIR has been registered under sections 142 (being member of an unlawful assembly), 143 (whoever is a member of an unlawful assembly, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both), 147 (rioting), 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Meanwhile, the ABVP protested against the organisation on Tuesday.
