It is been stated that the original length of the film was two hours, forty-seven minutes, the movie has been brought down to nearly two hours, seven minutes. Apparently, it was a voluntary decision made by the Director Vishal Bhardwaj along with the Producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18. The length was reduced to conform to the liking of the present generation and to make it more viewer-friendly. A leading daily quoted a source as saying, “Everyone in the team feels that Rangoon has turned out to be very special. But at nearly three hours of playing time, the film was seen to be too long for today’s generation. Vishal and his producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18 have voluntarily decided to bring the length down by more than half an hour.” Meanwhile, the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) has given the U/A certificate to the film and has also demanded to replace three cuss words from the movie.
