Kathmandu, Nepal, May 19 (ANI): Nepal's Speaker of the House Onsari Gharti Magar, has prorogued the current session of the Parliamentary meeting which has raised questions over the 2nd phase of local level election as the agitating parties showed restraint to their demands. The current session of the Parliament which went on for 381 days came to an end recently. The discussion on the final day was supposed to be on the newly tabled amended proposal by the government. With the discontinuing of the Parliament session, questions over the second phase of the election are on the rise as the agitating parties have remained consistent with their demands of constitution amendment as the condition for their participation in the polls. The second phase of the poll is scheduled for 14th of June. As a part of addressing demands of the agitating parties, the Government on Thursday morning accepted the Madheshi and Tharuhat movement as a political movement and took steps forward to release the prisoners convicted with various incidents of that time. The low-lying areas where the second phase of election is scheduled to be held is expecting a voter turnout of about 9 million. Meanwhile, the electoral body of Nepal that is, the Nepal Election Commission is set to start the preparations for the election from next week.
