Video Description

Darjeeling (West Bengal), June 20 (ANI): A group of Buddhist people took out a candlelight vigil to demonstrate their anguish against the alleged police firing during the recent clashes in the town. The residents marched on the town's streets and urged both the Centre and state Governments to initiate talks and resolve the crisis-like situation. The tourist destination has been boiling ever since the agitation for a separate 'Gorkhaland' state, initiated by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), turned aggresive. The GJM supporters have also been opposing the alleged imposition of Bengali in schools across the district.
