New Delhi, June 27 (ANI): Pop sensation Beyonce turned out to be the biggest winner at 2017 BET awards which were handed out on Sunday at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ‘Halo’ hit-maker took five awards at the show, including best female R&B/pop artist, album of the year for 'Lemonade,' video of the year for 'Sorry', video director of the year and the Coca-Cola viewers' choice award. The 35-year-old singer headed into the show with a leading seven nomimations. She did not attend the ceremony but her proteges Chloe x Halle accepted the award on her behalf and recited a speech given to R&B duo from the pop star herself. Singer Bruno Mars went home with two awards, Video of the year and best male R&B/pop artist. American rapper Kendrick Lamar was named best male hip-hop artist, while Remy Ma was named best female hip-hop artist. Chance The Rapper was named the Best New Artist. A total of 21 awards were handed out to artists, entertainers and athletes at the show, which was hosted by Leslie Jones.
